Through heartbeats blood will be pumped all over the body to give energy and oxygen that body cells need. As the blood moves it pushes against the walls of the blood vessels, strength of this pushing is called Blood pressure. The only way to know the blood pressure is to have it measured. It is measured in ‘millimeters of Mercury”(mm Hg) and is written in two numbers Systolic/ Diastolic. The first( or Top) number is systolic Blood Pressure. It is true highest level of blood pressure reaches when the heart beats.
The second ( or bottom) number is diastolic blood pressure. It is the lowest level of blood pressure reaches when heart relaxes between its beats. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 (mm Hg).Increase in blood pressure levels puts extra strain on arteries and on heart, this may leads to heart attack and strokes. It will effect kidneys also.
There are two types of blood pressure High blood pressure and Low blood pressure.
High blood pressure is when the blood pressure is at 140/90 it is called ( Hyper tension). It will effect Heart and kidneys.
Causes of High blood pressure
1. Eating of too much salt.
2. Consumption of Alcohol.
3. Lack of exercise.
4. Over Weight.
5. If not taking enough fruits and Vegetables.
Low blood pressure is below normal level 90/60 (mm Hg) its is called (Hypotension). It will cause Dizziness, Tiredness, Blurred vision.
